The adventure begins

The idea of creating the show came from a day of trainspotting, pure joy for train enthusiasts. Taking the best photo of the best train in the best location – that's the goal of a journey that sometimes leads these spotters to particularly remote and hard-to-reach places.

Here's the journey of two founders on December 30, 2020:
Nyon – Yverdon – Olten – Zürich – Arth-Goldau – Göschenen – Andermatt – Brig – Nyon.

This journey allowed us to discover different railway companies and numerous rail specificities. Many topics ranging from History to Technology to Tourism were discovered, which, presented pedagogically, could help travelers understand this world. Nothing existed on television about Swiss railways – we didn't really understand why, or rather, we were delighted...

Our Identity

Including "One" in the name seemed essential to maintain a logical connection with a former show and signify that this is the first program of its kind. Adding "Rail" was intended to create a wordplay with the SBB's Rail 4 software.

The logo had to incorporate railway codes to be both traditional and modern. "Rail" was hand-drawn to evoke iron and highlight the rail profile with the "i". The blue label inscribed with "One" pays homage to those used to announce train lines on screens.

SBB departure labels

To put viewers at ease, the theme music had to evoke railways while conveying motivation and enthusiasm. The music rights were acquired and we have several versions allowing remixes. This theme will be used less and less in future adventure episodes.

The opening credits feature captivating images updated at the beginning and middle of each season. In season 3, graphics were revised thanks to our evolving animation knowledge, with the creation of animated SBB palettes for segments. Season 5 marks a turning point with a unified graphic theme across all our media.
